Age 52, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2004 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 30, 1951 in Menominee, Michigan the son of the late Glenn and Frances (Plude) Hartl. On February 18, 1971 he married Donna Vande Voort in Appleton. He was employed at Neenah Foundry for thirty years until ill health forced his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, cutting trees, and spending time at his trailer in Shawano. His greatest joy in his life was his grandchildren.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be sadly missed by his wife Donna of Kaukauna, his children Diane (Derek) Anderson of Darboy, and their son Dyllon, Sheila (Terry) VandenBloomer of Kaukauna, and their children Crystal and Cody, Floyd, Jr. (Dawn) Hartl of Appleton, and Rachel (Lenny) Wolff of Kaukauna and their children Jasmine and Destiny; his brothers and sisters: John Hartl, Gloria (John) Nettekoven, Linda Simon, Glenn F. Hartl, David (Cindy) Hartl, Janet Hartl, Barb (Jesse) Small, Theresa VandenWyngard, Tina Hartl (special friend Paul Willemson), Joe (Tiffany) Hartl, Kelly (Jim) Strauss, and Duane “Butch” (Shelby) Hartl; his brother-in-law Richard Kirvan; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Carl (Joanne) VandeVoort, Jack (Dar) VandeVoort, Nancy Gahr (special friend John), Betty (Dave) Schaeffer, Randy (Becky) VandeVoort, Jeff (Darlene) VandeVoort, and Steve (Lynn) VandeVoort; many nieces, nephews, and cousins and his good friends Joan and Jim Nackers among many others who supported Floyd through his illness.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jeff, sister Bonnie, sister-in-law Pat Hartl, mother-in-law and father-in-law Leo and Julia VandeVoort, and a brother-in-law Jerry VandeVoort.
Prayer and Scripture Services will be conducted on Friday, February 27, 2004 at 7:00 PM at the Fargo Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 PM until the time of the services. A memorial fund is being established.
