Florine Dryer

Florine G. Dryer, 89, of Appleton, WI, formerly of Park Falls, WI passed away Saturday August 23, 2014, at Appleton Medical Center, following a short illness.

She was born July 6, 1925 in Green Bay, WI, the daughter of Daniel and Pearl Grandine. She attended the University of Wisconsin -Madison and graduated Cum laude with a degree in Chemistry. Florine married William Dryer on August 27th 1949 and they spent 60 wonderful years together. Bill preceded her in death on July 12, 2010.

Florine enjoyed being a member of Eastern Star where she was a Past Worthy Matron and Past Secretary of the Park Falls Chapter. When she moved to the Valley, she joined the Fidelity chapter, where she held the chair of Martha for many years. She was also a member of White Shrine.

She is survived by her three children, David (Bonnie) Dryer of Park Falls, Carol (Daniel) Reffke of Kaukauna, and William O. Dryer of Menomonee Falls; eight grandchildren, Christopher Dryer, Marcus Dryer, Jessica (Matt) Titel, Erin (Jeremy) Blajeski, Nicholas (Lyssa) Schmidt, Daniel (partner Jodie) Schmidt, Amber Dryer, and Andrew Dryer; and five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Edward, Mason, Chase and Emma. A sixth great-grandchild is expected to be born later this year.

The funeral service for Florine will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 3:00 PM at PEACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2300 Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna with Pastor Lucretia Fehrmann officiating. Friends will be received at church from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 2:45 p.m. The committal will take place at Highland Memorial Park at a later date.
