Flora L. Hack

Flora Hack, age 94, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014. She was born on April 1, 1919, in Goodman, the daughter of the late Harvey Clarence and Ida (Ternes) Harrison. On October 12, 1940, Flora married Wilbur Hack at the Harrison home in Fence, Wisconsin. She began her work career as a manager at Kimberly Clark Sales Center Dining Room, and taught waitressing at the Vocational School in Appleton. Flora's passion was women's clothing. She was employed in various capacities in retail sales at various women's clothing stores and department stores including, Gloudeman's Department Store, Catherine's Clothing Store, and owner of Flora's Foundations & Maternity Vogue.
Flora was a member of First United Methodist Church and involved with the Women's group. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, and learning about life in the Victorian era. Flora volunteered her time with the Fox Valley Convention and Visitor Center, Civil Air Patrol, Business and Professional Women, SCORE, Hearthstone, Toastmistress, and the Chamber of Commerce. Flora was a friend to many and the love of her family meant the most to her.
Flora is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Wilbur Hack; daughters, Diana (John) Kuborn of Schertz, Texas, and Jane (Michael) Marshall of Centreville, Virginia; son, Dennis (Nancy) Hack of Victorville, California; eight grandchildren: Debora (Mike) Kelley and Denise (Vince) Colucci; Michael Jr. (Kristen) Marshall, Michele (Mike) Smith, Melissa (Ted) Wurfel and Allison (Dave) Silvey; Travis (Cassie) Hack and Adam Hack; ten great grandchildren; brother, Norman (Grace) Harrison of Fence; sister, Irene Radtke of Algoma; and sister-in-law, Gladys Harrison of Neenah. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Flora was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Harrison and brother-in-law, Richard Radtke.
The funeral service for Flora will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 21, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, 325 E. Franklin Street, Appleton. Rev. Dr. E. Doyle Blanton will be officiating. Interment will take place at Fence Cemetery in the spring. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday at the Wichmann Funeral Home downtown from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again at church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
