Dear Hermus Family, So sorry to read of Aunt Evelyn's passing. Her smile and infectious laugh, is just as pictured. She was always such a kind aunt. May God wrap you in His peace and love at this difficult time. We won't be able to attend the funeral, due to Covid, at this time.
Sam Sullivan left a message on November 26, 2020:
I will always be grateful to Evelyn for the gracious way she welcomed me to the family. Her kindness and thoughtfulness went well beyond me and was placed towards everyone who knew her. On a personal note, Evelyn was the last surviving family member of mine from the "Greatest Generation". Much has been celebrated about the men of the Greatest Generation, (serving in WW ll and such), but not enough focus is placed towards the devoted women, like Evelyn, who played a strong support role while choosing to remain in the background. As the Greatest Generation fades away I will miss the legendary tales of "Back in the day..." stories of how they had to walk through miles of snow to get to school, or get first hand real life stories of life & death struggles and hard economic times they had to endure. Modern generations can only offer "Back in the day..." stories to the level of how they cheated death...by surviving slow dial-up internet. It's not enough to say that Evelyn's passing represents a great loss. Her kindness and generosity towards all that knew her can never be replaced. Sam Sullivan
