Evelyn M. Chadek

Evelyn Marie Chadek, age 97 of Menasha, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017. She was born in Nadeau, Michigan on March 22, 1920 to the late Omer and Laura (DePatie) Laurin. She graduated from Stephenson High School in Stephenson, Michigan.

Evelyn worked for a short time as a waitress in Escanaba, Michigan and after moving to Menasha worked at a paper mill. On July 20, 1957, she married Richard Chadek at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Menasha. Richard preceded her in death on March 8, 2007. Evelyn was homemaker and was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Menasha.
She enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed sewing and tending her flower garden.

Besides her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joseph “Bud” Laurin, and a sister, Leona Hallfrisch.

Survivors include her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 324 Nicolet Blvd. in Menasha. Visitation will be on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Menasha. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Evelyn's name to St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Menasha.

Evelyn's family would like to thank her Care Minister, Kay Martin from St. Patrick's Parish and her dear friends; Ed & Lynn Behnke, Judy Fahrbach and cousin, Mary Jo Bergstrom for visiting and caring for her on her final journey.
