Age 93, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Gardenview Assisted Living Center. She was born on October 8, 1915 in Bonduel, daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Greub) Habeck. On October 7, 1944 she was united in marriage to Arthur J. Lau, he preceded her in death on October 14, 1988. Evelyn was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, bird watching, crafting, playing games, and cherished time spent with her loving family.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Edward (Wanda) Lau, Appleton, Linda Vosters, Appleton, Carol Halverson, Menasha, Mary (John) Jimenez, New Mexico; Three Grandchildren: Tony (Lisa) Halverson, Andee Lau, and Meredith (Scott) Griesbach; Great Grandchildren: Steven, Aaron, and Nathan Halverson. In addition to her parents and her loving husband Arthur, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Vosters, and her brother, Karl Habeck.

Funeral services for Evelyn will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri County Chapel (3212 South Oneida Street) with Rev. Mark Geisthardt officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The family would like to give a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and the staff at Gardenview Assisted Living for their loving care.
