Evangeline C. Christensen

September 27, 1922 — July 29, 2015

Evangeline Christensen, age 92, of Appleton, was reunited with her husband Cyril in heaven on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the St. Paul Home. She was born on September 27, 1922 in the Town of Shield, to the late Edward and Clara (Kosloske) Brieske. Evangeline was united in marriage to Cyril Christensen on October 25, 1941 in Weatherford, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2011. After retiring from Zwicker Knitting Mill, Eve did volunteer work, joined the Y.M.C.A., enjoyed bowling, and working in her garden. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Appleton.
She is survived by her sons: Ronald Christensen of Madison and Donald (Bernice) Christensen of Appleton; daughter Carla (Tom) Vander Zanden of Combined Locks; granddaughters: Jenny (Brian) Linn of Appleton, Stephanie (Eric) Hesse of Appleton, Valerie (Mike) Young of Combined Locks, and Charline (Rich Kowolezk, M.D.) Vander Zanden, M.D. of Menomonee Falls; great grandsons: Matthew Linn and Evan Hesse; and great granddaughters: Samantha and Haliegh Linn, Taelyn Young.
Evangeline was preceded in death by her husband Cy of 70 years, a sister Caroline Lass, and great grandson Jonathan Linn.
The memorial service for Eve will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at STAR OF HOPE CHAPEL, HIGHLAND MEMORIAL PARK, 3131 N. Richmond Street in Appleton. Rev. David Farina will be officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. The family would like to thank St. Paul Elder Services and St. Paul Hospice, for their wonderful care and compassion during her stay.
Although I'm not with you any more, I'm with the Lord above; Surrounded by His perfect peace, And filled with perfect love. There is no more worry, there is no more pain. No more suffering, no more sorrow, no more strain. So when tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart; For every time you think of me, I'm right here…in your heart.
