Huseman, Eugene H.

Eugene Henry Huseman, age 87, entered eternal life on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. He was born in Yorktown, Iowa on December 23, 1922, the son of the late Otto J. and Florence (Stephens) Huseman. On September 29, 1946, Gene married his loving wife, L. Blythe Snodgrass. He also served his country honorably in the Air Force during World War II. Gene loved gardening, hunting, fishing, music, dancing and skating. He worked for the Ford Motor Company in Shenandoah and then moved to Indiana where he worked on light industrial equipment. Gene and Blythe retired to Arkansas and then Wisconsin.

Gene is lovingly survived by his wife, L. Blythe Huseman of Menasha; daughters: Sheila (Richard) Erck of Greenville and Cynthia Lynn of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Gene was preceded in death by brothers: Wayne (Ora) Huseman, Kenneth Huseman, both of Shenandoah, Iowa; sisters: Louise Gilbert of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Mary K. (John) Dixon of Des Moines, Iowa.

Gene's family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Prairie Home for their loving care as well as Heartland Hospice staff: Katie, Lisa, Christine and Sister Ruth.

Funeral services for Gene will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 300 Broad Street, Menasha, with the Rev. Steven Billings officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A military honors service will be held following the church service. The committal will be held at a later date at Posley Cemetery in Yorktown, Iowa.
