Dear Edie and family: We would like to express our condolence after receiving the e-mail via computer and seeing it in the paper. It was hard to realize that I have lost a dear friend....we had such a good friendship, from the first day we met at Marathon/American Can Company. We have many memories of all those years....of which I will cherish in my heart. Gene will never be forgotten, he has a special influence on me when working together. Alway one memory, you might remember, when you both were sailing on Lake Winnebago, and you would sail by, and toss me a "cold beer", since the fish weren't biting. It was "our" special bond between two good friends. With much love to you and family. George

My love to Edie, Nancy, Dave and his family. My memories of Edie and Gene date back to Layton Art School when we were all so very young and poor, but still managed to have great get togethers with lots of conversation, liquid refreshment, and laughs. Such very good memories. I also remember all of our visits with Edie & Gene in Appleton when Walt and I attended the EAA each year. Always had a wonderful visit at their home, and had dinner at various restaurants in the area. I had 51 1/2 years of marriage with Walt, while Gene & Edie were just short of 50. I guess that says a lot for all of us.

Dear Edie: I don't think I ever even met you or Gene but you were very avid customers of the calendar I did for years & I always appreciated your thank you notes and cool christmas cards. My parents talked about you guys so much I really felt I did know you... I am so sorry for your loss - I miss my Dad every minute of my days but I feel him with me still. Peace & love to you Edie, Valerie

Edie anf Family, Really enjoyed working with Gene all those years. He sure left some big shoes for me to fill when he retired. Always had wished he could have seen how big and effective the department became, because of his efforts. Best Wishes, Jay & Julie Beck
