Ethel Rice

Ethel Rice, age 95, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Albert and Leticia Tammany. On November 21, 1947 she married Herbert Leigh Rice Jr. in Delaware. Ethel worked for DuPont in the Advertising Department until she and Leigh both retired in 1980 to the 10th tee on a golf course in Sun City West, Arizona. She and Leigh both enjoyed their retirement together in Arizona until Leigh's passing in 2000. In 2005, Ethel moved to The Heritage in Appleton to be closer to her family. At The Heritage she loved volunteering for hospice until she was well into her 90s.
She is survived by her three children, Bev (Tony Petullo) Trier, Steve (Angie) Rice, Sara Atzman; grandchildren: Jessica (Andy) Wheaton, Steven (Diana) Trier, Blake Rice, Kyle (Tara) Rice, Taylor Rice, Keith Atzman and Kaleigh Atzman; eight great grandchildren and many nieces nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leigh Rice.

A memorial service for Ethel will take place at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL (1592 Oneida St., Menasha) with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Theda Care Hospice Foundation (P.O. Box 1534 Appleton, WI, 54912) in her name.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the nurses and staff at both The Heritage and Theda Care at Home Hospice for the care and kindness given to Ethel.
