Age 98, died on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Rennes Health Center. Esther was born in Appleton, on August 13, 1906, daughter of the late Gustav and Bertha (Klitzke) Lange. Esther married Fred Miller on November 29, 1934. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1978. Esther married Arthur Stranen on November 3, 1994. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1998. Esther was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and past president of the Ladies Guild. She was also an active member of the AARP and involved as an activities planner at the Thompson Community Center. Esther will be greatly missed by her nephews, Thomas (Patricia) Lange, Appleton; Robert (Gail) Lange, New Providence, New Jersey; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her brother, Theodore; her infant sister; and other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Daniel Helwig officiating. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 18 from 11 until 12:45 p.m. The entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. The family would like to thank the staff at Rennes Health Center for their loving care of Esther. As an expression of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established.
