Esther A. Stuewer, age 98, of Appleton, died on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. Esther was born on September 26, 1910, in Lessor Township, Shawano County to the late George and Ottilia (Ferg) Stuewer. She graduated from Shawano High School, was employed at several area firms following graduation and was employed at Tuttle Press, Appleton, for over 27 years. Esther was well-known as a kind and caring person to both young and old alike. She was a baptized witness of Jehovah and hoped in the promise of a kingdom and paradise earth when “no one will say, I am sick.” Esther enjoyed reading the Bible, discussing the Kingdom, and cooking. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grand nieces and grand nephews. Esther is survived by her nieces and nephews, Robert (Delores) Stutzman; Roy Stutzman (Special Friend Ceclia); Delores (Chester) Hansen; Karen (Vincent) Wagner, Bruce (Karen) Stutzman; Barbara Hove; Ralph (Patti) Stuewer; and Jan (DuWayne) Krause; her cousins; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with Eugene Figlinski officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Thomas J. Lewandoski and the staff at Appleton Medical Center for their loving care.
