BARTMANN, EMMA LOUISE
“A Beautiful Soul”

Emma Louise Bartmann, age 95, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Rennes Health Care Center. Emma was born on October 25, 1914, in Appleton, to the late Anton and Frieda (Mack) Gauerke. She enjoyed singing, playing the organ, attending concerts, fishing and especially the time spent with her family. Emma was a life-long member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She married John Bartmann on July 3, 1937; he preceded her in death on September 23, 1983. Emma was a caring, wonderful Mom who will be remembered with great love by her three remaining children, Dorothy (Ray) Werner, Lakewood, Washington; Nancy (Jim) Zemlock, Appleton; Roger Bartmann, Desert Hot Springs, California; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; her sister, Gertrude Leopold; and two sisters-in-law, Molly Gauerke and Lou Bartman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John; her daughter, Marilyn in 1977; her son, John, Jr. in 1982; and her brothers and her sister. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 N. Morrison Street, Appleton, with Rev. Paul Jenkins officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff at Rennes Health Center and the special caregivers (you know who you are), the Affinity Hospice staff, and special neighbors, Nancy Allen, the Reinertson family, and the Schaefer family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Emma's name to benefit St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Fox Valley Lutheran High School or Affinity Hospice.
