Elsie M. Falk

Elsie Mae Falk (nee Keith) went to her eternal glory on Thursday morning, December 8, 2016 after a long struggle with congestive heart failure.

Elsie was born May 9, 1923 in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania and was baptized on January 22, 1939 at the First Church of the Brethren in Roaring Spring. She graduated from Roaring Spring High School, then worked in the Sylvania plant in Altoona during World War II. Post-war, Elsie worked at the First National Bank of Roaring Spring, advancing to assistant manager. She met Lloyd Falk from Appleton, Wisconsin, in Roaring Spring and the couple married July 9, 1960 at the First Church of the Brethren in Roaring Spring. Elsie moved to Appleton after they were married and joined St. Paul Lutheran Church. Elsie was a member of the St. Paul Ladies Aid and the Appleton Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies for many years. She enjoyed golf, bowling, and card playing in her younger years, and Dominos, Yahtzee, and cards later in life. She took great pride in her four grandchildren.

Elsie is survived by her two daughters: Anita (Eric) Butkovich and Lisa (Dan) Garber, and four grandchildren: Katie and Kristie Garber and Aaron and Jeremiah Butkovich, all living in the Appleton area. Elsie has three sisters: Elizabeth Brumbaugh, Ethel Burket, and Betty Fisher; a brother: Harry (Kathy) Keith, all living in the Roaring Spring area; and a sister-in-law: Doris Falk of Appleton. There are many more nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends as well.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Esther (Pote) Keith, her husband Lloyd Falk, brothers-in-law John Fisher, Minnie Burket, and Gerald Brumbaugh of the Roaring Spring area, and Wilfred and Kenneth Falk, both from Appleton. There are many other family and friends welcoming her into eternal glory.

The Christian Funeral for Elsie will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 N. Morrison Street in Appleton, with Rev. Kenneth Frey officiating. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park at a later date. Family and friends are invited to gather directly at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be donated to The Heritage Cherry Meadows Respite Center in Appleton to be used for a new lift recliner to assist future respite patients be more comfortable in their struggles.

We would like to express our great appreciation for all the love and support everyone has given us these last months. We would especially like to thank all of the friends, family, neighbors, the ThedaCare Hospice staff for both in-home and Cherry Meadows Respite Care in Appleton, as well as all who helped in any way to support or provide care for Mom. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
