Age 94, died on Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at ManorCare. Elsie was born on August 11, 1908, daughter of the late Julius and Martha (Rohde) Selchow. She married Harold Bridge on September 1, 1928, and they enjoyed 29 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death in 1957. Elsie was employed at Woolworth’s Variety Store for 29 years. She loved to read and crochet, especially afghans. Elsie was also a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Bridge; 6 nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Thelma Cook. Elsie was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Emil and Julius Selchow; her sisters, Anna McGroarty; Hadie Kinzel; and 3 nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November 29, 2002, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 North Superior Street, Appleton, with Rev. Ray Claussen officiating. The interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, November 29, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Thelma Cook and the staff at ManorCare, for their loving care of Elsie.
