Age 101, was taken to the Lord on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at Sharpe Care LTD. Elsie was born in Grand Chute, WI on August 12, 1901, daughter of the late Carl and Adeline (Brueggeman) Kobs. She married Henry C. Schmidt at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church on August 12, 1924, and they enjoyed 38 years of marriage until he preceded her in death in 1962. Elsie was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church for 80 years and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She loved to work in her vegetable garden. Elsie will be greatly missed by her daughter, Vivian (Richard) Huisman, Townsend, WI; her grandson, Richard (Clarice) Huisman, Wabeno, WI; 2 great grandsons, Jeffrey and Steven Huisman; and her grand niece, Judy (Richard) Saunders and their family. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Elsie was preceded in death by her 3 sisters, Anna Winch; Emma Clark; Louise Deeg; and her brother, John Kobs. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 15, 2003 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Joel Zank officiating. The interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, March 15 from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.
