REUSS, ELODICE PATCHETT

Elodice Patchett Reuss, of Dousman WI, long time resident of Appleton, died Thursday December 1, 2011 at Three Pillars Masonic Home for Health and Rehabilitation at the age of 97. She was born on August 15, 1914 in the town of West Rosendale, Wisconsin to Roy F. and Bernice (nee Mooney) Patchett. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1935 and from Ripon College in 1939, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in English and Music. From 1940-1942 she taught at Ewen Elementary School in Ewen, Michigan. On June 13, 1942 she married Randall Reuss in West Rosendale; he preceded her in death in 1984. Elodice was an accomplished cellist and pianist. She was a charter member of the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra. In 1997 she received the FVS Bravo Award. She retired from FVS in 2003 and was recognized again for her 36 years of dedicated service. Throughout her music career Elodice played frequently with the Lawrence College Symphony Orchestra. Elodice was a frequent contributor to the pit orchestra at Attic Theater and played for many community and church functions. She taught private piano lessons for 25 years and was a member of Wednesday Musicale. She was an avid gardener and was a member of Homemakers Club of Grand Chute Township.

Elodice is survived by her sons Robert (Jean) Reuss of Wales and Howard Reuss of Hillsboro. Grandmother of Heather (Steve) Malsavage of Menasha, Sarah (Robert) Meyer of Hartford and Andrew Reuss of Wales. Great Grandmother of Vivian, Tandawae and Reuss Malsavage and Caleb Meyer. She is further survived by her brother-in-law John Zwiebel, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sister Dorothy Zwiebel.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Three Pillars Masonic Home for Health and Rehabilitation and Riverside Lodge for all their love and support throughout the past three years.

A Memorial Service for Elodice will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Wichmann Funeral Home Tri-County Chapel. Rev. Mark Klaisner will be officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Memorials are appreciated to Ripon College Advancement Office, P.O.
