Elizabeth "Betz" Crowe

Elizabeth A. “Betz” Crowe, age 77 of Appleton, passed away on March 27, 2016. Betz was born on August 1, 1938 in Appleton Wisconsin to Edwin and Marion (Blick) Sprister. She was a 1956 graduate of Appleton West High School. On April 25, 1967 she married Pat M. Crowe and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2007 after 39 years together. She was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital Pharmacy in Appleton as well as Humisten-Keeling Drug Company and for 10 years worked as a secretary with Chudacoff and Liebzeit, a local law firm until she retired in 1995. She loved Crocheting, painting with oils reading and doing embroidery. She also enjoyed playing women's softball until age 41. She was a member of the Walkie-Talkie Exercise Group and the Mountain Slick Chicks luncheon group. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Parish.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Mark E. (Christy) Crowe of Appleton; Michael H. “Mike” (Marsha) Crowe of Danville, Kentucky; Elizabeth “Beth” (Lee “Vic”) Lucero of Eureka Missouri; Patrick M. (Tracie) Crowe of Neenah, grandchildren: Mark (fiancé Sarah Woelfel) Crowe; Kristin (Josh Wilcox) Crowe; Tyler Crowe; Nathan Crowe; Alisa (John) Kelly; Lindsey (Kevin) Schultz; Patrick Crowe; Emily Crowe, great-grandchildren: Ava Kelly; Jillian Wilcox, siblings: Robert (Mary) Sprister; Thomas (Phyllis) Sprister; Sharon (Dan) Schubring as well as nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Pat.
Funeral Liturgy for Betz will be on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald Street in Appleton at 11:30am with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday morning at the church from 10:00am to 11:15am. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Heritage Woods, ThedaCare at Home Hospice, Dr. John Swanson and Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology for the wonderful care given to Betz.
