Elinore L. Greve

Elinore L. Greve, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center, after a brief illness. Elinore was born March 30, 1912 in the Manitowoc County town of Eaton, daughter of the late Herman and Bertha (Ansorge) Olm. She was baptized on April 21, 1912, at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Collins and was confirmed on June 6, 1926, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Brillion. On December 6, 1930, Elinore was united in marriage with Ewald Greve; Ewald preceded her in death on January 22, 1999.

Elinore was a longtime and faithful member of Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton, its Ladies Aid and Altar Guild, and was also a member of the Willow Hill Homemakers Club.

She is survived by two daughters: Jeannette Loefer of Forest Junction and Lois Jane (Alvin) Sonnenberg of Appleton; a son: Jerome (Audrey) Greve of Appleton; ten grandchildren: Cheryl (Gene) Puhl of Elk Mound, James (Judy) Loefer of Reedsville, Nancy (Terry) Beckman of Malone, Tom (Connie) Loefer of Reedsville, Charles (Michelle) Loefer of Quincy, Illinois, Gary (Karen) Sonnenberg of Waukesha, Mary (Randy) Schoenrock of New London, Ellen (Gerald) Hosbach of Hartford, John (Kay) Greve of Appleton, and Paula (Ken) Lange of Seymour. There are also twenty-two great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law: Lois Olm of Appleton. Elinore was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ewald; a son-in-law: Alton Loefer: a great-granddaughter: Lindsey Loefer; sisters: Betsy Radloff and Hildegarde Krueger; and brothers: Gordon Olm and Eugene Olm.

The Christian Funeral for Elinore will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 10, 2009 at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 E. Florida Avenue in Appleton with Rev. Robert Raasch officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday (TODAY) from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again Friday morning at the church from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service. A memorial fund has been established in her name for Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church and for Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
