Eileen W. Strauch

Eileen W. Strauch (Hale), age 88, of Appleton, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on January 1, 2016 at her home. Eileen was born on September 28, 1927, daughter of the late Louis and Ceil (Williamsen) Verhagen. She was a graduate of St John's High School and as WWII ended, she met her first husband, Thomas Hale. They married in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1977. They enjoyed square dancing, camping, and socializing until Thomas's death in 1977. Eileen was blessed to meet her second husband, Harold Strauch, through their love of dance and travel. They married in 1992. They enjoyed being snow birds in Florida. He passed in 2011.
Eileen was a friend to all with the gift of gab. She had a way of making every person she spoke to; whether they are a child or adult, feel special and loved. Eileen was a talented seamstress, designing her own square dance dresses and clothing for her children. She enjoyed her job at Sears in the shoe and drapery departments for many years. She loved to spend time with her childhood friends at their monthly lunches and will always be known for her spirituality as a devout catholic.
Eileen will be missed by her children; Daniel (Luz) Hale, Mary (Phil) Conradt, Linda Hale (Burry Bondar), Susan (Michael) Brockman, John Hale (Billie Jo Gerver). Her step children; Robert Stutzman, Charles (Doris) Strauch, Vernon (Barbara) Strauch and Richard (Mary) Strauch; grandchildren: Amy Burt (JJ Dempsey), Mellissa Van Eyck, Danielle (Craig) Snieder, Reed (Sandy) Adams, Jim Adams, Benjamin (Jen) Bast, Joshua (Stephanie) Conradt, Jared (Nicole) Brockman, Ryan (Sarah) Brockman, Brett Brockman, Alissa Brockman, Ashtyn Hale. She has 13 Great Grandchildren and one Great, great grandchild. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her son Bruce Hale, husbands Thomas Hale & Harold Strauch, her sister Janice Lenz, brother, Gerald Verhagen, mother and father, Ceil and Louis Verhagen.
The Funeral Liturgy for Eileen will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY SITE, 600 East Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, with Father Bob Kollath officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the JANSEN FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 204 East Kimberly Ave. Kimberly, on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 for 4:00 p.m. until the prayer service at 7:00 and again at CHURCH on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until this time of Mass. The burial will follow Mass at St. John Cemetery in Little Chute. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
