Eileen S. Wildenberg

February 12, 1914 — December 29, 2002

Formerly of Combined Locks, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2002 with her family at her side at the age of 88. Eileen was born near Kaukauna on February 12, 1914, daughter of the late Michael and Nora (Berken) Milton. She was a 1933 graduate of the Kaukauna High School, and on September 11, 1934 was united in marriage to Wally Wildenberg at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. He preceded her in death in 1990. Many will remember Eileen for her skills with a fishing rod; she loved spending time at the family cottage on Roberts Lake and was a member of the Roberts Lake Association. For many years she served as the chief inspector on the Combined Locks Election Board and was also an active member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly where she was a member of the Christian Mothers Society, and volunteered in a variety of other ways. In her later years, she belonged to VIP (Visually Impaired Persons) and eagerly awaited her annual trip to the Lions Club Camp near Rosholt.

She is survived by her daughter: Donna (Bob) Lopas of Gresham; three sons: Clay (Carol) Wildenberg of Gresham; Jay (Sue) Wildenberg of Combined Locks; Jim (Maggie) Wildenberg of Little Chute; ten grandchildren: Alan (Alicia) Wildenberg, Craig Wildenberg and his fiancee Amy Casson, Todd Wildenberg, Bob (Mary) Lopas, Bill (Billie) Lopas, Candy Wildenberg, Joe Wildenberg, Clint Wildenberg, Tom Wildenberg, and Ben Wildenberg; ten great-grandchildren; a brother: Mike (Pat) Milton of Appleton; two sisters: Elaine (Bob) Welter of Eau Claire and Ethel (Woody) Wulterkens of Appleton; five sisters-in-law: Ione Milton of Eau Claire, Harriet Thurner of Kimberly, June Simon of Appleton, Irene Wildenberg of Combined Locks, and Alma Blackburn of Little Chute; a brother-in-law: Sonny (Ann) Wildenberg of Kimberly. Eileen is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wally in 1990, an infant son, two infant grandchildren, brothers Donald Milton, Orile Milton, and Cletus Milton; a sister: Gladys (John) Diedrich; brothers-in-law: Charles Blackburn, Scott (Angie) Wildenberg, Urban Wildenberg, and Bill (Roseanne) Wildenberg; and sisters-in-law: Etta (Ed) Vanden Boogaard and Josephine (George) Jansen.

The funeral liturgy for Eileen will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at 12:00 Noon at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the services. A memorial fund has been established for the Wisconsin Lions Camp or the Holy Name of Jesus Endowment Fund.
