Effie A. (nee Spaay) Asman

Effie Asman, age 87, of Kimberly, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on December 2, 1925, in Appleton, the daughter of the late George and Anna (Janssen) Spaay. On February 26, 1949, Effie married Roy Asman in Appleton. Effie was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Kimberly Craft Ladies, and Villa Voices. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and playing cards. Effie surrounded herself with her family and friends, especially her Kimberly and St. Paul Home friends.
Effie is survived by her children: Thomas (Patricia) Asman, Kimberly; David (Maria) Asman, Darboy; Mary (Steve) Arend, Franklin; and Russell (Lynne) Asman, Monument, Colorado; twelve grandchildren: Jeffrey (special friend Kelli Rindt) Asman and Randy (Anne) Asman; Katie (special friend Sam Gocker) Asman, Sharon (Joe) DePaoli, Laura (Travis) Jordan, and Marley (fiancé Ryan Killian) Asman; Julie (Judd) Durant, Andy Arend, and Matthew Arend; Daniel, Maggie, and Karlie Asman; six great grandchildren: Grant, Michael, and Claudia Asman; Keizer (Asman) LaBoy, Royce and Mabel Jordan; brother: Patrick (Linda) Spaay, Appleton; sisters-in-law: Bev Spaay, Kimberly and Sis Asman, Valders. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Asman; sisters and brother: Margaret (David) Dietrich, Lee (George) Knoll, and Jerome Spaay.
The funeral liturgy for Effie will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the St. Paul Home Chapel, 316 E. 14th Street in Kaukauna. Interment will take place at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday in the chapel from 1:00 pm until the time of mass.
