Edward F. Menet

Edward “Ed” Menet, age 93, son of the late Frank and Aneila (Osypka) Menet, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2015. He was born October 22, 1921, in Chicago, IL. Edward was a devoted Roman Catholic and made praying the rosary a daily practice. He was a maintenance supervisor and a UAW Official for Case-International Harvester-Tractor Works where he worked for over 44 years. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Core during WWII (1943-46) and was in charge of a B-17 Bomber Maintenance Crew stationed in England. He married his beloved Anna (Mestan) on May 29, 1946 and was lovingly married and cared for her until her death on January 19, 2003.

When he could no longer mow the grass or drive a car as carefully as he would like he took to walking. He especially liked walking with his son, Rick. Ed would light up the room with his smile especially when he saw his grandkids and great grandkids.

He is survived by his sons: Steven (Maryl Fisher-) Menet of Fairburn, SD and Richard MD (Rita) Menet of Appleton: three grandchildren: Luke (Angela) Menet and great-grandchildren Jonah, Simon, Leah, and Abram: Peter (Luella Dooley-) Menet of Milwaukee and great-grandson Ronan: Joy Menet of Denver, CO.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 at ST. THERESE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 213 E Wisconsin Ave, Appleton, WI 54911, with Father Bill Hoffman officiating. Visitation will held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the Service at the church. The family would like to extend a special 'Thank You' to the wonderful and loving staff who made him feel like one-of-the-family at Willow Lane Assisted Living: the dedicated staff who cared for him at St. Elizabeth Hospital, and Heartland Hospice Care.

Dad, Thank you for being a great father and grandparent. We will miss your welcoming smile and your grateful attitude. It was truly a joy being of service to you. You will be missed but remembered fondly.
