Earl B. Kitzerow, M.D., age 75, died Thursday, August 4, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born May 19, 1930, in Manitowoc, the son of the late Raymond and Leona (Raether) Kitzerow.
Dr. Kitzerow was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School and continued his education, receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1956. His internship was done at the Ohio State University Hospitals with his surgical residency being completed at the Milwaukee Medical Complex in 1964. He served in the United States Navy as a corpsman from 1950-51 and as a flight surgeon aboard the USS Midway and for the Blue Angels from 1956-60.
Dr. Kitzerow practiced general surgery with the Medical Arts-LaSalle Clinic-Affinity Health Group for 36 years, from 1964 until his retirement on June 30, 2000. After retirement, Dr. Kitzerow took the position of Director of Open MRI in Appleton, and was active in the Golden Kiwanis, Salvation Army, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
He was a member of the Outagamie County Medical Society, the Wisconsin State Medical Society, and the American College of Surgeons.
In 1953, he was united in marriage with Marian Voigt, and she preceded him in death in 1982. In 1983, he married Lynda DeCoster with whom he shared 23 wonderful years.
Earl was a tremendous booster and supporter of the Wisconsin Badger football and marching band programs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ione, and a son, Todd. Survivors include his beloved wife, Lynda; three sons, Paul (Laura) Kitzerow, and their daughters, Emily and Olivia, Steven (Bridget) Kitzerow, and their son, Monty, all of San Jose, Calif., and Tim Kitzerow, of Kimberly; as well as other relatives, uncle Ernest Raether, of Menomonee Falls, aunt Noney Raether, of Ocean Springs, Miss., and aunt, Doris Raether, of Spooner, Wis., his faithful companion, his dog Sassy, and many, many friends.
Memorial services for Dr. Kitzerow will be at 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2005, at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2220 East College Avenue, Appleton, with Revs. Martin Koeller and Timothy Seabaugh officiating. Inurnment will be in the Star of Hope Chapel Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. Monday until the time of services directly at the church. A memorial fund for Dr. Kitzerow is being established by his family.

Earl, you were the love of my life. And I will love you until the day I die. Lynda-go Bucky!
