Age 85, passed away at Good Shepherd in Seymour on Wednesday, May 17, 2006. She was born in Neenah on September 20, 1920 daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Bauhs) Lindauer. She married her husband of 59 years, Charles Sample, in Waupaca on June 27, 1941. Dorothy was a long time employee at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a central service worker, retiring in 1986. She continued to volunteer there until 2002. Dorothy was proud to be a 30 year member of the St. Mary’s choir. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her cats.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Jeanette (Joseph) Benson of South Lyon, MI, Marilyn B. (Daniel) Romenesko of Wilmington, DE, Charles A. (Ann) Sample of Green Bay, Thomas E. (Janet) Sample of Potter, and Robert G. (Lisa) Sample of Cecil; grandchildren: Charles R. (fiancé, Renee Kohlhepp), Katherine, and Ryan; sisters: Angeline Scheuneman and Barbara (Arnold) Derks; and a sister-in-law, Iris Lindauer. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles, and her brother, Arthur Lindauer.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2006, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 S. State St., Appleton, with Fr. Michael O’Rourke officiating. Friends will be welcome at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.

Masses and prayers would be appreciated. In lieu of flowers, checks may be made out to National Parkinsons Association or the Good Shepherd Fund.
