Doris B. Boldt

Doris Boldt, age 90, passed away on Saturday morning, January 12, 2013, at her home in Milwaukee. Doris was born in Oshkosh on February 15, 1922, daughter of the late August and Bertha (Birr) Pofahl. On April 19, 1941, she married Elmer Boldt in Oshkosh; Elmer preceded her in death in 1993. She was a longtime and very active member of Riverview Ev Lutheran Church in Appleton where she sang in the choir, was a member of Ladies Aid, and helped with the Sunday School. Most recently Doris attended St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Muskego. While living in Appleton, she was employed in the food service department at Lawrence University.

She is survived by three children: Carlene Boldt of Greenfield; Jacqueline (Nicholas) Oberle of Scotia, New York; and James (Pat) Boldt of Prairie Du Chien; a dear family friend: Mary Deglow of Greenfield; four grandchildren: Paul (Larisssa) Oberle, Kathryn Oberle, Mark (Michelle) Boldt, and Jennifer Boldt; a great-grandson: Nicholas; and sisters-in-law: Shirley Presley and Charmaine Monroe. There are also many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Elmer; brothers Bernhard, and Elder “Red”, and Armin Pofahl; and a sister: Violet (Lester) Klabunde.

The Christian Funeral for Doris will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, S66 W14325 Janesville Road in Muskego, with Rev. David Kuehl officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 18, 2012 in the Star of Hope chapel at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. Pastor Dennis Belter of Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church will lead this burial service.
