Dora Virl Pockat, age 87, died peacefully with her family by her side on November 4, 2009 at Brewster Village in Appleton. She was born on March 19, 1922 in Waupaca County, the daughter of the late Riley and Rennie (Dexter) McNutt. Dora was married on October 26, 1941 to the love of her life, Leonard E. Pockat for 43 years until his death in 1984. She was a life long member of the United Methodist Church in Clintonville and a leader in their Women's Society. Dora enjoyed spending quality time with her friends and loved to be with her grandchildren. They often spent time playing games together and Dora even loved to take Ian fishing.

Dora will be sadly missed by her son, Jeff (Betty) Pockat of Appleton; brother, Jerry (Amber) McNutt of Tavaris, FL; former daughter-in-law: Lavonne Pockat of Neenah; daughter-in-law, Renee Pockat of Green Bay; grandchildren: Emily Pockat, Ian Pockat and his special friend, Nicole Meehl, Maggie Pockat; step-grandchildren: Brian Wunderlich, Brenda (Dave) Stenz; step-great-grandchildren: Jesse, Jacob and Kaylee Wunderlich, Nicole and Brianna Stenz; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who all love her dearly. Dora is preceded in death by her son, Michael Pockat; brothers: Niles McNutt, Harold (Dorie) McNutt, Eri (Hilda) McNutt and sisters: Hally McNutt, Virginia (Chester) Piehl and Lucene (Franklin) Laing.

Funeral Services for Dora will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Skip Robertson officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
