Age 63, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2001, at the Theda Clark Medical Center. Donna was born on August 13, 1938, daughter of the late Roman and Gladys (Planert) Birkholz. On August 23, 1958, Donna married Frederic Ziegler, and they have enjoyed over 43 years of marriage. The one thing Donna enjoyed most of all, was spending time with her grandchildren, and would often attend her grand-daughters soccer games. She was President of King’s Daughters Circle, and volunteered for the Meals-On-Wheels program. She loved spending time at her cottage on Shawano Lake. Donna also enjoyed working with flowers, making crafts, and also her Wednesday afternoon 4 for Fun Bowling League at Hahn’s Bowling Lanes. Donna will be greatly missed by her husband Frederic; her daughter, Lynn (Mark) Swanton, and their children, Nicole and Allison, Appleton; her brother, Laverne (Connie) Birkholz, Shawano; her sister, Jan Sutliff, Stow, Ohio; a nephew, Paul Sutliff, London, England; a niece, Kelly Sutliff, Stow; two sisters-in-law, June (Wallace) Maass; Lola Jahnke; four brothers-in-law, Robert (Ruby), Donald, Kenneth (Lorraine), and Philip (Bev) Ziegler. Further survived by many other relatives and friends. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 31, 2001, at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 East North Street, Appleton, with Rev. Willis Bloedow officiating. The entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the church on Friday, August 31, from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses in the Neurological Department at Theda Clark.
