Donna M. Emrick

Donna Emrick age 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Appleton on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. She finally got her wish to leave this world before Frank, her spouse of 58 years. Donna was one of four children born to George and Erna (Hansen) DeBroux on March 5th, 1932 in Denmark, Wisconsin. Donna graduated from the Bellin School of nursing in 1953. She worked several years as an office, industrial and pediatric nurse before retiring to devote her time to Frank and raising a family.

Donna Marie DeBroux and Frank A. Emrick were married on July 3, 1954, and were blessed with three children: Scott F. (Ramona Reynolds) Emrick, Mark G. (Julie J. Svetnicka) Emrick, and Nancy M. (Gary) Ziegler. The grandchildren, starting with Scott and Ramona's family include Andrew, a freshman at Luther College and twin sons Michael and Nathaniel who are juniors at Appleton East. Mark and Julie's daughter Rachel serves as Youth Minister at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, and their son Sam is a graduate of Oshkosh West High School and is currently a part time student. Nancy's daughter, Amanda Schroeder is employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant and is studying for a career in nursing. Amanda's soon-to-be three year old son, Braxton, is a delightful, full of fun fourth generation grandson.

Her older sister, Lois Hendrick (spouse James) and younger brothers, Gregory G. and Robert C. DeBroux preceded her in death. Greg and Bob are survived by spouses Judy and Rita, respectively.

Donna was routinely (actually required to be) addressed as, “Sweet, beautiful aunt Donna of mine whom we all love dearly” by a host of nephews and nieces which she in return loved and treasured. You all know who you are.

The Funeral Service for Donna will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 1, 2013 at OUR SAVIOUR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3009 N. Meade Street in Appleton, with Rev. Debra “Dee” Sim officiating. Interment will follow in the West Danish Cemetery near Denmark. Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service.
