Donna C. Ready of Appleton, 67, died Friday morning, June 25, 2004, following a pulmonary illness. She was born May 22, 1937, to the late Thomas and Vivian (Schultz) Murphy, in Appleton, where she was a resident all of her life. Donna had been employed by J. C. Penny for 23 years, retiring in 1999. She enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to country music, and completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Survivors include her five children and their spouses, Jim and Shelly Ready, Arlington Heights, IL; Kim and Don Rainwater, South Hadley, MA; Michael and Amy Ready, Oshkosh; Lisa and Jerome Hagen, Lake St. Croix Beach, MN; Steve and Mary Ready, Appleton; Jerry J. Dorn, her love and soul mate for 28 years; 13 grandchildren, Dominic and Tessa Ready, Joshua McClean, Matthew and Justine Rainwater, David, Alyssa and Hannah Ready, Jenna and Samantha Hagen, Chris and Kory Hermes, and Levi Ready; a brother, Tom Murphy, Nevada. She is further survived by Jerry’s children, Steven Dorn and his friend, Sharon, NC; David and Denise Dorn, Hortonville; Bill and Pam Dorn, Big Rock, IL; Ellen and Bill Evans, Champagne, IL; her best friends, Jean Plante and Barbara Pautz; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services for Donna will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 pm, Monday, June 28, 2004, with Reverend Kurt Kovanen officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 pm, Monday, until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.

The family would like to sincerely thank the Hospice Nurses, especially Kelly Verhasselt and Kelly Bekkers-Graham and the staff of Cherry Meadows for their loving care and support.
