Donna Beckner

April 20, 1930 — March 30, 2015

Donna Mae Beckner, age 84, formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Monday, March 30, 2015, at the Emerald Valley Assisted Living in Appleton. Donna was born on April 20, 1930, daughter of the late Floyd and Gertrude (Gensch) Sutton. In 1946, she graduated from Beaver Dam High School before going on to study at the Columbia County Teachers College. In the spring of 1952, Donna married Glen Greinke. He preceded her in death. One of her proudest moments came when she served with honor as Staff Sargent in the Women's Air Force, state side during the Korean Conflict. She was a 59-year member of the American Legion. Later she returned to school, receiving her business degree from UW-Platteville. She was employed by the George Fredrick Insurance Agency for many years.

In her later years, Donna was an avid golfer and enjoyed volunteering. She was a member of the Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce and Friends of the Williams Free Library. She also helped start the Art in the Park, which has continued on to this day. Above all, family was the most important part of Donna's life.

Donna leaves behind her daughter Martha (John) Wollner of Wrightstown; grandchildren: Chris, Lesley and Emily Wollner; great grandchildren: Kayla and Sophia Sanford and Deacon Wollner; as well as her brother Robert (Thelma) Sutton of Sun Prairie. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to your local humane society in Donna's name.
