Loving father and grandfather, age 74, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at Franciscan Care Center.

Donald was born on September 16, 1927 in Appleton, son of the late Fred Lecker, Sr. and Elizabeth (Kuhn) Lecker. His stepmother Rose raised Donald for most of his life. Donald loved hunting, fishing and stock car racing. He even used to race stock cars himself. Donald loved to “hobby farm,” and raised animals in his younger days.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Donna (Gerald) Wittman, Appleton; Debbie (Michael) Haufe, Neenah; his son, Donald (Linda) Lecker Jr., Appleton; 5 brothers, Earl (Olive); Fred (Joyce); Roy (Karen); Roland (Bonnie); and Richard (Ginny) Lecker; 2 sisters, Verna Forslund; Elaine (Orlo) Moeller; 6 grandchildren, Dion (Tammy); Dereck (Cindy); and Dale (Melissa) Lecker; Terri (Lonnie) Norrod; Wayman Wittman; Daydre Haufe; 4 great-grandchildren, Taven and Kendal Lecker; Dillon and Cali Norrod; and his former wife, Betty. Donald was preceded in death by his stepmother, Rose Lecker; and his brother-in-law, “Tinsey.”

The Funeral Service will be held at Noon, on Saturday, March 16, 2002, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Leon Knitt officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, March 16 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank the staff in Unit 4 at Franciscan Care, for their loving care of Donald. Donald was a robust man who enjoyed life, and he always had a smile on his face.
