Donald Peter Anthony Rowe

February 27, 1944 — October 28, 2021

Donald Peter Anthony Rowe “Don”, age 77 of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, October 28th, 2021. He was born February 27th, 1944 to the late Olive & Harlow Rowe. Donald married the love of his life, Anna Rowe, in 1963. He spent the majority of his career working at Rich’s Bakery. When Donald was not working, you would often find him at Peabody (Don’s) Park, camping at Robinson Lake, or at Point Beach. Donald was an incredibly kind, intelligent, loving, generous, and selfless Family Man who always said how proud he was of his children, Denise and Dean, and his grandchildren, Ashley and Matt. Donald was a devoted and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend to many. His love for the holidays was incredibly special. You could always count on his light being on for Halloween, family time and generosity on Christmas, and his love for fireworks on the 4th of July. He was always a kid at heart. Donald had a huge heart for animals, especially dogs that needed to be loved and rescued (Budweiser & Bruiser being his favorites). He always made sure to contribute to the Humane Society of America. Donald grew tomato plants so big and impressive, you had to see it to believe it. Donald was very witty and had the most distinct, infectious, and lovable laugh. Everybody that knew him loved him, and he was a man that anyone could go to for knowledge and advice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olive and Harlow Rowe; his siblings, Harlowe Rowe, Anne Knostenberg, and Ernie Rowe; and his best friend Timothy Strutz.

Donald is survived by his loving wife Anna of 58 years; his daughter Denise (Russelle) Brouillard and his son Dean Rowe; and his grandchildren, Ashley (Christopher) Krajewski and Matt Brouillard. He is further survived by his brother Gary Rowe; sister-in-law Vicky Rowe; his close friend Margaret Strutz; and 10 nephews and 17 nieces, including two that held a special place in his heart: Rick Robl & Anne Moore.

A Funeral Service will be held at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St, on Friday, November 5th. Visitation is at 2 PM, and Service will follow at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

In words from his wife’s heart, “You’ll always be my special angel. My love for you will never die”.

From his kids and grandkids, “We will take all the love you’ve given us and carry it throughout our lives.”
