Don served as music director and organist at First Presbyterian Church Neenah 1963-1987. I sang in a boy choir at age 10 that Don directed. Later I joined the adult choir at age 15, and began organ lessons two years later. Don was inspiring, kind, and played then organ hymns very accurately. He lead the choir rehearsals in major works of Handel Messiah, Vivaldi Gloria, Mozart Requiem, and Poulenc Gloria. Years pass and leadership, kindness, and music continue. It was an honor to k ow him. Scott Dickson, Neenah wis

I was so sorry to hear about Don’s death. We met him and Lynn at an Appleton church for the noon organ recital series, even then he was having difficulty. Don welcomed Joan and I into the choir in 1991. He gave us inspiration and a sense of belonging. His music ability was great and we enjoyed him as director. He made us all stretch to sing wonderful music.

Dave and I loved singing in the choir when Don was the Director of music at First Presbyterian church many years go. Psalm 51 “create in me a clean heart oh Lord , and renew a right spirit within me” ……was sung at the end of every service and I cherish those words to this day at the age of 91. Don was a talented man and I am so sorry for your loss. May God comfort you all with his love. Very Sincerely, Marilyn Carlson

So sorry to hear of Don's passing. I am a long time member of the First Presby. choir (tenor) and Don gave me some of my best musical experiences EVER as a part of his choir.
