Donald Hammack

Don Hammack, age 76, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his home. Don was born in Hazen, North Dakota on March 10, 1934, son of the late Eugene and Flora Albers Hammack. Many will remember Don for his many years of service as a pilot for Air Wisconsin – he retired in 1994 after twenty-seven years of faithful service. He enjoyed golf, boating, and was a former member of the Appleton Yacht Club. He also enjoyed traveling with his family.

His family includes three daughters: Karen Alpers of Alexandria, Virginia; Cheryl (Jay) Depner of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and their daughters: Madison and Maci; and Pamela (Phil) Emrich of Adel, Georgia and their sons: Dalton and Trevor Lampe. Don is also survived by his former son-in-law: Mikel Alpers and his daughter Libby; his former wife: Betty Hammack; a sister: Patricia Wilhelmi of North Dakota; and a sister-in-law: Julia Hammack of Texas. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his companion Joyce Marks, a brother Darrel Hammack, and a brother-in-law Gordon Wilhelmi.

A memorial service for Don will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 3212 S. Oneida Street in Menasha. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
