Burmeister, Donald H.

Donald Harvey Burmeister, age 81, passed away on August 1, 2010. He was born December 29, 1928, son of the late Chester and Clara (Onkels) Burmeister. On June 21, 1952, he married his loving wife Jean E. Belling. Donald was a longtime member of First English Lutheran Church as well as an usher and communion assistant for many years. He served honorably in the Army from 1947 to 1949 and worked for Olson Transportation and CW Transport until his retirement in 1988.

Donald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean E. Burmeister; children: Donna (Gary) Haberland, Tom (Joan) Burmeister, John (Elizabeth) Burmeister; grandchildren: Kaylyn, Alyssa and Sam Haberland, Tom and Joe Burmeister, Cole, Kristofer and Sage Burmeister; sister, Cleo (Jack) Thompson; brother-in-law, John Belling; sister-in-law, Nancy Belling, and several nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Grace Z. Belling, sister-in-law, Mary Golz and brother-in-law, Al Golz.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Donald's name to First English Lutheran Church.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2010 at First English Lutheran Church, 326 E. North Street, Appleton with the Rev. Michael H. Dismer officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. The committal will be held at Highland Memorial Park.
