Age 80, died Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2001, following a short illness. He was born July 17, 1920, to the late Andrew and Anna (Schmidt) Johnson, in Green Bay. Don was associated with his father, Andrew Johnson, in Johnson Shoe Rebuilders for many years and was later employed by the City of Appleton, at the Wastewater Plant retiring in 1979. Survivors include his wife, Lila F. (Woeckner) Johnson, to whom he had been married for 53 years; a son and daughter-in-law, Kris Johnson and Susan Werner, Madison; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Hemes, Burbank, CA; a sister, June Braun who died February 25, 2001; a sister-in-law, Nora Johnson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Neller and a brother, Wesley Johnson. Private family services will be held. Entombment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. There will be no visitation.

The family would like to thank Franciscan Care and Rehabilitation Center. Donald says “au revoir” to the nurses and staff who cared for him this past year.
