Moi left a message on April 6, 2009:
When traveling to Las Vegas for a few days with Tina, after she and Dennis had first met, Tina spent more time on the phone with Dennis, sitting in the hallway so as not to wake up her traveling partners, than she did talking to us. Bev and I knew that a serious romance was in the making. Tina, my heart and prayers are with you now. Dennnis is up in heaven so you better watch for your "pelican." Moi

My deepest sympathy to the Jansen's, my Sixth Street neighbors, and all who loved Dennis. I would run into him several times a year, and he always had a "Well, hello, Susie. How're you doing?" Always smiling and friendly to those he knew.....he will be missed.
Eric (Rick) Bachhuber left a message on April 6, 2009:
My sister Sue e-mailed the obituary of Dennis. I was a neighbor of the Jansen's for many year. I have great memories of Dennis, Steve, and Tommy--basketball memories. I was a little kid, probably 5 years younger than Tommy, but they would let me play two-on-two with them. Dennis and I against Steve and Tommy. Steve and Tommy usually won, but I know they were taking it easy on me, and once in awhile we would win. Even though I had my own hoop two doors away, I remember shooting baskets on their basket hoping the guys would get home and want to play. After all these years--it is still so clear. Rest in peace, Dennis. Eric (Rick) Bachhuber

Jansen Family, I was so surprised and saddened to hear about Dennis passing away. I didn't know he got diagnosed with cancer, and am sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I hope he didn't suffer and is now at peace. Roxanne Cardelli

Dear Tina, Julie & David, Words are difficult to express at this very sad time. Dennis was the best. He was one of the first friends we met when moving to the valley from Waupun many years ago and a gentleman at all times. This Dec. 24th we'll drink a drink of kindness at the Prime Time in remembrence of our dear friend. May the Holy Spirit grant you strength and peace.

I loved working with Dennis; he was a good boss, and a great friend. He always took the time to help people, and made coming to work so much fun. He had a terrific sense of humor, and compassion. We will miss him.

Julie & David ~ My deepest sympathy to both of you for the loss of your father, expecially because you were unable to spend time with him during his final weeks and days.
Tom Jansen left a message on April 6, 2009:
I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to share some memories and express their love for my brother. A special thanks to the Bachhuber kids. We were so close growing up in that neighborhood that I think of you as quasi brothers and sisters. And Rick, I remember those basketball games in our driveway like they were yesterday - I'm sure Dennis did too. You were quite a bit younger than us but you had plenty of "game" even at that age. Just as playing against Dennis every chance I could made me a better player, I hope we, in some small way helped you too. Sue, you are a very special person to Shelley and I. Thanks again Steve, Sue and Rick. I encourage more people to share their memories of Dennis...it really does help us cope with this loss.
