Delores A. Fisher

October 15, 1935 — March 1, 2021

Delores (Laurie) Fisher of Kimberly passed away peacefully on March 1, 2021 at her son’s home at the age of 85 from complications of bladder cancer.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Delores was born in Kimberly, WI on October 15, 1935, daughter of the late John and Olga (Jesse) Mitchler.

On December 28, 1963 Delores married James W Fisher at St Therese Church in Appleton.  Before her marriage, she worked at the Appleton State Bank, Appleton.  After their marriage, Delores and Jim moved to Colorado for 15 years and then returned to Kimberly.  Delores then worked at Fox Valley Technical College in the Accounting department for 18 years before her retirement in January 1998.

Delores will be sadly missed by her oldest son Dave (Paula), Darboy and their children: Briana, Chicago, IL; Alyson (significant other Eric Poggenburg), Andover, MA; Mitchel, Eau Claire, WI and her younger son Brian, Kimberly, her siblings: Dorothy Micheln, Sharlene Rainville, Jesse Jarat, Daniel (Joann) Mitchler, Marilyn (Gerald) VanderPas, Barbara Mitchler and sisters-in-law Rosemary Mitchler and Bernie Fisher. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and relatives.

In addition to her husband James and her parents, Delores was preceded in death by James’s parents, her twin sisters Carmen (infancy) and Carmel (Leavitt), sisters Mildred (John) Francek, Gladys (James) Zelinski, brother John Mitchler, brother-in-law Roger Rainville, Margaret (Syl) Parker, Delores (William) Springer, Francis (Bev) Fisher, Cy (Emmy) Fisher, Joe Fisher, John (Hope) Fisher and Jerald (Pat) Fisher.

Delores was a proud member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Combined Locks, WM Verhagen Post #60, American Legion Auxiliary, Kimberly and the VFW Heart of the Valley Auxiliary, Post 10544, Combined Locks.

The Fisher family would like to thank the many friends Delores made over the years at TOPS, Kimberly Area School District and the Village of Kimberly for their support of Senior Quest. Anyone who knew Delores, knew she loved her Auxiliary Gambling trips.  Thank you to all the fellow gamblers for all the great memories you made with mom.  She had a blast! A very special thank you to her dear friend Donna Prahl.  Donna you have been such a blessing to our family.  Thank you for being such a dear friend and confidant to our mother.

Due to current circumstances, private services will be held. Services will be recorded and posted on the Wichmann Funeral Homes website after services have occurred. There will be a gathering in Celebration of Life on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Home on Superior Street in Appleton.
