Delbert J. Kastning

Delbert J. Kastning, age 77, went peacefully to be with his Savior Jesus Christ while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. He was born in Elmhurst, IL on November 6, 1938 to the late Louis and Clara (Freiberg) Kastning. On July 26, 1958 he married Rita Seisser in Gilberts, IL. In 1970, Delbert and Rita moved to Seymour, Wisconsin where he farmed. They moved to Bemidji, Minnesota for two years while Delbert attended Oak Hills Bible Institute before returning to the Seymour area where he continued to farm and raise his family.

Delbert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rita Kastning; children: Mark (Cindy Pfeifer) Kastning, Cindy (Dan) Ward, Nancy (Mark) Ewald, Paul Kastning, David Kastning, Jenny (Dave) Ingram, Stephanie (Chad Johnson) Dobrunz, Scott (Devon) Kastning, Jeff Kastning, Becky (Craig) Janssen, Glenn Kastning, Bruce (Yvonne) Kastning, Karl Kastning and Joshua Kastning; daughter-in-law: Sue Kastning; 34 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters, and a twin brother. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Marie and his son John.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until a memorial service beginning at 5:00 PM with a reception to follow on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL (1592 Oneida St.). In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Delbert's name.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Guenther and his staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology as well as the nurses and staff at Heartland Hospice for the care given to Delbert.
