Debra Ann "Debbie" Hostettler

February 7, 1958 — September 27, 2020

Debra “Debbie” Ann Hostettler, age 62, passed away peacefully and joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 27, 2020, surrounded by her daughters.

Debra was born on February 7, 1958, to Inez and Conrad in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Debra left school in the eighth grade to help her mother at home. Debra had some very special pets growing up, including a german shepherd, and a couple of horses. Later in life Debra had another special german shepherd, Bandit, as well as a few mice and one very loud tropical bird.

Debra always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, including her best friend and sister Carol, and her good friend JC. Debra also loved to meet up with friends and reminisce at the local Kaukauna Family Restaurant. During Debra’s teen years she moved to Florida for a couple years and lived with her sister Joan. By 1979 Debra had returned to Wisconsin and met James Donajkoski on a blind date. They married in 1980 and had two daughters, Amee Donajkoski (John Hueseman) and Emily (Tim) Smits. Throughout her life Debra was very artistically gifted. Debra enjoyed painting, playing the harmonica, listening to oldies, watching movies – including The 3 Stooges, and in her younger years Debra enjoyed gymnastics.

Debra was very religious and enjoyed listening to her favorite musician, Carroll Roberson, and watching religious programs. In addition, Debra prayed her Catholic rosary up to three times daily. For a short time Debra also taught Catholic religion at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna. Debra strongly believed in helping others, and felt it was very important to forgive others in life. She often said that you need to forgive others in life in order to be forgiven by Jesus. Debra lived her life every day by that belief and she touched many lives in her years. For many years Debra donated to many charities and children’s organizations. One organization she was especially fond of was Love A Child.

Debra is survived by her daughters, Amee Donajkoski (John Hueseman), Emily (Tim) Smits, siblings Joan Nico, Judy (Ron) Grieshaber, and Steve (Nancy) Hostettler.  She is also survived by her nephew and nieces, Todd (Lori) Guyes, Tanya Guyes, and Nickie Guyes. Debra is further survived by her grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Caitlyn, Tyler, Jaidan, and Allie.

Debra is predeceased by her best friend and sister Carol (Jim) Guyes.
