David J. Probst

David Probst, age 59, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday afternoon, September 28, 2013. Dave was born in Appleton on New Year's Eve, 1953, son of the late Archie and Margarat (Brock) Probst. He was a 1972 graduate of Xavier High School in Appleton and worked as a pattern maker for many years for Badger Northland, B & H, and Perfect Patterns.

Dave will be remembered by all as a quiet, loving, and generous man who was always there for others. He also had a knack for knowing a little bit about almost everything – he was often the go-to-guy for information that couldn't be found elsewhere. His kind, easy manner and great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his three dear children: Sara (Kirk) Bell of Fond du Lac and their children Carter and Carissa; Chad (Lori) Probst of Appleton and their daughter Nora and twins who are expected soon; and Emily (Gary) Lewis of Appleton and their children Braden and J.D. Dave also leaves behind two sisters: Pat Schaefer of Maryland and Jan (Mike) Foxgrover of California, as well as several nieces and nephews, other relatives, co-workers, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will join together to remember David from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida Street in Appleton. The afternoon will conclude with a prayer service at 6:00 PM. At a later time, David will join his mother and father at their resting place at Highland Memorial Park.
