Lori, Kayla and Drew. Your husband and father was truly a special man. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with David for 14 years. In that time, David found a special place in my heart, with his genuine kindness, compassion and quick wit that made him who he was. I will miss the conversations and laughter that we shared on the golf course. I feel blessed and honored to have known David, and will miss him greatly. Kids, your father was so very proud of you, and his face and eyes would light up when he spoke of you, which was often. Lori, David was a special man, and as a friend of his, I knew he truly cared for you, and was proud to be your husband. Our family's thoughts and prayers reach out to you. God bless you all.
Jessica Eastman left a message on November 5, 2012:
The thing I know most about my Uncle Dave is that he is an excellent father and husband. He loved his family and was so proud of everything that Lori, Drew and Kayla did. He always had a smile and an amazing laugh. He gave great hugs and was a great family man. I never heard him say a harsh word. As I struggle with my grief I will keep all the wonderful memories of all the recent family gatherings with Dave playing with all the little kids while the adults talked. He had a playfulness that was greatly admired and I hope that everyone will be inspired by his love.

Eastman Family, Dave was the first person I meet in the Prep Dept. at Banta/RRD. He trained me and was a wonderful coworker for the past 15 years. When we would cross paths he would always say "Hi Johnny" and we would chat about sports or whatever else was on our minds. He is going to be greatly missed by his Banta family. My Deepest Sympathy, John
