My thoughts and prayers were with you, Mary, and family, as I watch the Mass for Dave at St. Mary's by streaming. My fondest memory of Dave was when I went on the Mission Trip to Siuna, Nicaraqua, on February, 2000. I was in your group, so I can say that I was blessed by Dave and Mary. Another way that I will not forget is when I am able to sit on the deacon chair at Holy Spirit Church in Darboy. It was built by Arn's Cabinet. May Dave see God face to face and comfort you, Deacon Bud

Meca, Dean. Adam, & Nick I just watched Dave's service. You gave him a nice send off on his final journey. I am still shocked how he went. My last memory of him was when he came over to give me his last 3 popcorn balls because I wasn't able to get any when you made them & sold them through the church. I have a lot more memories but that was the last one. Still makes me smile. Love to you all as you go through these tough times. Char

We are so incredibly sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. We had barely met since we were newer neighbors but from what we have heard he was an amazing man. Take all the beautiful memories and hold them close. We understand that our loved ones show themselves through cardinals. We pray you see him often.

Mary, Dean,Adam Nick we want you to know that we will be with you in spirit today as we watch the celebration of Daves Life and also to celebrate his new Birthday with Jesus. You guys have been very fortunate to have such a great Christian Man as a father and husband. Your father and I enlisted in the Navy together and i can't think of a nicer person to be able to call Friend back then. Please know that we are better people because we knew and know your mom and dad. his peace!

Dave, you have been such a wonderful part of our life at Post Lake and you leave behind such a big hole in our hearts. How could we know how blessed we would be to have shared this Christmas with you and Mary. Mom is already missing her co-pilot position next to you in the boat. And those great old fashioneds you made....nobody makes them better. As we carry on you will be with us always, in our thoughts and prayers. Godspeed, dear Dave!
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

To Mary and family, you have my deepest sympathy. Dave was one of the best. I just spoke to him about two weeks ago. We had a nice conversation, and I always appreciated Dave. He was always quiet, sincere, and loving. One of the best from St. John’s, class of 66. Sincerely Greg and Pat VanZeeland

Our deepest sympathies and condolences on Dave's passing. Dave was a dear friend, a great husband and family man to Mary and their family, and an all-around great guy. We enjoyed so many special up-north times together with Dave and Mary - dinners out, drinks on the pier, neighborly chit-chat, and most of all, great friendship. Dave cared about people, he got involved, and he made a positive difference in everything he touched. We miss him already and will remember him often.

When I heard the news from my son Mike, I was shocked to hear of Dave's passing. I too have a cottage on Post Lake (Upper Post), shared with my two daughters and I understand Dave and Mary's love for the lake. I remember being at Mike and Laura's cottage many times and each time we would visit with Dave and Mary or simply stand on Mike's dock and wave back and forth with them both on their lake shore. We will always cherish those memories.

Mary and family, my heart felt sympathy and prayers to you all. Dave was such a fun person to be with on our Mission trips and his easing going demeanor made it so easy to be working together with him. I especially remember that sly little grin of his. After a long work day in Nicaragua I would follow him around because he always knew where to find a COLD one.
