I had the privilege of meeting Dan when I was sampling at Simon's Cheese. We always had lots of laughs because I was usually sampling a cheese he liked and I'd certainly keep him "stocked up" on his favorite for his work day and he usually shared some of the leftover sauces at the end of his day with me! I never met a finer gentleman who had such a wonderful always upbeat beautiful Christian attitude. He could lift the spirits of anyone who was struggling with any issue or an attitude!!! I'd like to share one good laugh we had on a recent phone call; Dan said that he knew what lie ahead and if that was God's plan, he had an acceptance. However, he said that he hoped that when he got where he thought he should be he wondered if whoever met him at the gate might say he needed to change direction!!! We both laughed because knowing Dan the short time I did that it was totally improbable. In fact, he has truly already made Heaven a richer place. I'm sending hugs to you all in place of attending the funeral as I have a niece who is also a terminal cancer victim and I was spending the day with her....every day is such a gift. Dan, God bless him, unknowingly, with his beautiful Christian attitude helped me gain a peaceful acceptance of what is to come for my niece as well. Dan touched many of our lives at Simon's Cheese and he will indeed be missed!!. I plan to make a donation to St. Jude's in honor of Dan. Somewhere, somehow there must be a cure for cancer!!! Prayers for you all!!
