Nelsen, Dale H.

Dale Harold Nelsen, age 55, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, May 28, 2009. He was born in Frederic, Wisconsin on May 7, 1954, the son of the late Harold and Esther (Nelson) Nelsen. On May 28, 1977, Dale married his loving wife, Deborah Titus, in Fond du Lac. He was a man of great integrity who exemplified generosity and kindness. Dale was loyal to God and his family and was a mentor and role model to younger men. Dale Nelsen, father and husband, was a warrior and a strong man for his family and to all that knew him. He had a big heart and just wanted to help people. It didn't matter who you were or how you may have treated him. He just wanted you to have the life that he had. He wanted everyone to understand the amazing love that Jesus has for all of us. Because of this love, my dad was married to the same woman, never left us kids and truly led us all in the way of the Lord. In a day and age when men are weak in leading their families in spiritual things, in this area my dad was a champion. He provided in the natural, but never put that above the spiritual. What we have seen in his life was unique and special, but for him it was easy because he loved as Jesus loved him. He would want all of us to live our lives for eternity. To make sure that every moment we live we do it to impact others. Wherever my dad went he made his mark for the positive. If you know Jesus as my dad did this is an awesome thing because you will see Dale again. As my dad said many times, “Jesus' love is like a coat, put it on and let it warm you and comfort you.” Let Jesus in your heart and you will understand why my dad lived his life with purpose, strength and love.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Deborah Nelsen of Appleton, children: Soren (Jennifer) Nelsen of Appleton, Elizabeth Nelsen of Appleton; grandchildren: Quinn and Titus Nelsen; sister, Kay (Cyrus) Bjerke, and several nieces and nephews. Dale is preceded in death by his daughter, Leah Nelsen, and his brother, Mark Nelsen.

A Memorial Service for Dale will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2009, at HIS CHURCH WORLD OUTREACH CENTER, 2704 Jackson Street, Oshkosh, with Pastors James and Mary Willoughby officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, Dale's family has established a memorial fund.
