Dale B. Kilgas

July 14, 1928 — April 6, 2011

Dale Kilgas, age 82, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at a local care center. Dale was born in Kaukauna on July 14, 1928, son of the late Norbert Walter Peter Kilgas and Agnes Mary (Gillen) Kilgas. Dale was a graduate of the Kaukauna High School, where he excelled at baseball, football, boxing and basketball, and is a member of the Kaukauna Athletic Hall of Fame. On October 20, 1951, he married the former Helen Banning at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2005. During the Korean War, Dale served his country as a member of the United States Army, and for over forty years was employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper in Kaukauna. There he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Dale was also a longtime and faithful member of St. Katharine Drexel (St. Mary�s Church) in Kaukauna.

Dale is survived by a son: Jeff Kilgas and his special friend Debbie Wolosek of Kaukauna and his children Leah (Kevin) Micke and their sons Will, Ben, Ethan and Grant; Theresa Jansen and her sons Bryce and Landon; Sam (Christine) Kilgas and their daughter Ava; and Charlie Kilgas and his fianc�e Margaret Egan;

A son: Eric (Darlene) Kilgas of Kaukauna and their children Zachary Kilgas and his fianc�e Shauna Buffe and her son Dayton; Matthew Kilgas; Cierra Smith; Ryan Smith; and Lacey Micke;

A son and live-in caregiver: Kurt Kilgas of Kaukauna;

A son: Andy (Wendy) Kilgas of Omro and their children Moira, Isaiah, Rachel, Eli, Tabitha, and Drew Kilgas;

A daughter: Lynn (Ed) Voet of Kaukauna and their children Sarah, Amy, David, and Caroline Voet;

A son: Adam (Dana) Kilgas of Little Chute and their sons Adam, Noah, Wyatt, and Evan Kilgas;

John�s wife: Cindy Kilgas of Chilton and their children Joshua, Justin, and Chelsea Kilgas.

Dale also leaves behind a brother: David (Frannie) Kilgas of Kaukauna; two sisters: Joan (Francis) Gerow of Kaukauna and Rita Gatz of Kaukauna; a brother-in-law: Wayne Rewey of California; and a sister-in-law: Margaret �Mugs� Kilgas of Kaukauna. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, a son John in 1996, a brother Don Kilgas, a sister Mary Ellen Rewey, and a brother-in-law Dave Gatz.

The funeral liturgy for Dale will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, April 8, 2011 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH (St. Mary�s Church) 119 W. Seventh Street in Kaukauna with, Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
