Daisy Katharine (Wanek) Uecker

Loving mother and grandmother, age 86, was reunited with her Divine Savior on Sunday, October 7, 2001. Daisy was born in Winona, Minnesota, September 12, 1915, the daughter of the late Minnie (Decker) and George Wanek. She married Andrew C. Uecker on April 12, 1934 in Winona, and he preceded her in death July 20, 1981. Daisy loved to attend bible classes at Faith Lutheran Church, where she was an active member. She also enjoyed bowling and planting flowers; especially roses. Daisy is survived by four sons, Kenneth (Kay) Uecker, Janesville; Eugene (Marilyn) Uecker, Deerbrook, Wisconsin; Donald (Carol) Uecker, Appleton; and Dale (Kathy) Uecker, Appleton; her sister, Betty Jane (Chester) Bundy; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Millie Wanek. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Daisy was preceded in death by her brothers, George Jr. and Harold; her daughter, Susan Montgomery; grandsons, Jeff Uecker and Jason Uecker; and great-grandson, Tyler Kloes. The Memorial Service will be held at Noon, on Friday, October 12, 2001, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 East Glendale Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Paul Brinkman officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to benefit the Salvation Army would be appreciated. The family gratefully acknowledges the wonderful care Daisy received at the Franciscan Care Center.
