Corrine Hansen

Corrine G. Hansen (Koenig), age 65, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday morning, July 29, 2015, secure in the love of her Heavenly Father and his Son. She was born on November 7, 1949 in Wausau, Wisconsin, daughter of Alice (Hinz) and the late Lyle Koenig. On June 17, 1978, she married Sgt. William C. Hansen in Hawaii, after a successful career as a musician. Their marriage was blessed with a son and a daughter, and 37 wonderful years of adventures together, including their time with the US Army. Corrine proudly supported her husband's career serving their country, while stationed in Hawaii, Georgia, Colorado, New Jersey, and Germany, before moving back home to Appleton.

Corrine was a long-time member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a devout Christian. She believed in God first, family second, self last, and she lived it every day. She loved flowers, butterflies, angels, spoiling her grandchildren, and baking. Corrine was a confident woman who wore her heart on her sleeve and did everything with a vibrant passion. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, who will live on through memories, cherished by her loved ones.

She is survived by her husband William. Her children: son Sam and his wife Erin, Manawa, and daughter Sarah, Appleton. Grandchildren: Grace, Daryn, Josephine, Raymond, Dylon, Alena, Ariana, and Tabitha. Mother Alice Y. Koenig, siblings Sheri (Earl) Jackson, Karen (Vern) Bork, Wayne (Sharon) Koenig, Joan (Fred) Rath, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Rev. Lyle Koenig and mother in-law Betty Honea.

The funeral for Corrine will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:00 am at Bethany Lutheran Church, 530 W. Parkway Blvd., Appleton, Wisconsin 54911; Rev. Darin Aden officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at 213 W. Lindbergh Street, Appleton. Memorials in Corrine's name may be sent to 159 Wells Street, Manawa, WI 54949.
