Conrad A. Schink

Conrad Schink, age 90, died early on Thursday morning, March 13, 2008. Connie was born in Appleton on September 10, 1917, son of the late Christian and Marie (Weiss) Schink. He attended schools in Appleton and on September 28, 1940 married the former Patricia Smith at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In 1942, Connie began his service in the United States Army. Following his discharge in 1945 he returned to Appleton and began work in the maintenance department at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Twenty-nine years later, he retired from St. Elizabeth as the Head of the Maintenance Department. In his retirement, he also held a similar position at Doctor's Park in Appleton for several years. In his younger years, Connie enjoyed playing soccer, bowling, and for many years played in a golf league.

Connie is survived by his wife: Pat Schink of Appleton; five children: Lynn (Charles) Milheiser of Sherwood; Charles Schink of Mountain; Cynthia (John) Paul of Appleton; Steve (Beverly) Schink of Kaukauna; and Jeffery Schink of Appleton; a daughter-in-law: Janice Schink of Kimberly; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Shirley Bergner. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Danny Paul, brothers Chris, Joe, and Art, and sisters Mary, Celia, and Mildred; a brother-in-law Bernie Bergner, and a sister-in-law Jane (Norm) Stoeger.

A funeral service for Connie will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Wichmann Funeral Home in Appleton with Fr. Jim Lucas of St. Paul Catholic Church in Combined Locks officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the services.
